However, it is difficult to get much over 2900 fps with the 200 gr bullet. .
Without VLD data I simply used Sierra MatchKing 180 and 190 data and split the difference - can't see there being that big a difference in the bullets.
Convinced me to swap out the recoil pad to a Limbsaver from the factory hockey puck and I did take one over the eyebrow!185 VLD Hunting.300.That's the max I can feed from the clip and leaves the bullet 170 thou of running start - way more than I'd like, but it is what it is, can't be changed.I can't figure out why the 300 win mag has that 250 fps difference with 20 more grains of bullet weight. .I asked if it was fireformed as that'll increase the case volume and would make more sense that it'd show pressure with a normal starting charge.Best load I came up with in a T3 Deluxe was.0 grs IMR 7828 (not a powder I ever tried in the 300 WM before a 250 mag primer in Nosler brass seated.350 OAL.
Excellent accuracy, high ballistic coefficient and it shoots exceptionally well at long distance. .Faster than IMR4831 discount tire broad street and will build to max quickly.Well it certainly sounds like an undercharge is causing your pressure signs.AA magpro.5 2854.With a 180 gr I can reach 3150 fps by pushing the envelope. .Accuracy averaged less than.750" for groups of 3 @ 100 yds, almost always 2 in a hole and the third a tad left and up probably win ex dividend from barrel temp.I am looking for recommendations based on Berger's Data below: Powder, start Load, start Velocity max load max velocity fill ratio / The table headings.
Hello all, I recently pickup a Savage Long Range Hunter in 300 WM with a 26" barrel.
This will be my first time loading a magnum cartridge and i plan to shoot 185 gr Berger Classic Hunters out.
Puzzled by the above data for the 190 with the IMR4831 - going by that, I should be well over max even with a 5 gr lighter bullet.
